Nematodes for Ermine Moth Caterpillar: Effective Pest Control

Use this unique mix of different nematodes to control Ermine Moth caterpillar on your fruit trees Ermine Caterpillar Nematodes are safe to use on food crops, are suitable for use on organic crops and will not harm pets, children, wildlife or bees. Ermine Caterpillar Nematodes need a minimum temp of 12°c and are a perishable product, so order when you are ready to apply – normally between March and October. Supplied in sachets as a powder, which is mixed with water and applied with a sprayer treating up to 25sqm– to treat a smaller area just make the solution stronger as it is impossible to overdose.

Ermine Moth Caterpillars – If your fruit trees, shrubs and hedges are covered in “silk webbing” and there are caterpillars in great numbers these are likely to be the caterpillars of the Ermine Moth. The “webbing” is easily spotted and can cover trees, but its the caterpillars hiding in the webbing that do the damage often leading to the defoliation of the plants / trees. Ermine moths emerge as adults in July or August,  mate and lay eggs. The larvae hatch in August and will over-winter as caterpillars before starting to feed again in spring. The caterpillars pupate within the webbing and it is this silk webbing, which is the most obvious symptom. To control Ermine Moth Caterpillars, apply the Ermine Caterpillar Nematodes TWICE at 3-5 day intervals when the the caterpillars are spotted and re-apply as necessary to keep caterpillars at bay. We supply 2 sachets of nematodes containing a unique mix of different nematodes called NemaMix, which are applied TWICE at 3-5 day intervals to the SAME area and each pack treats 25 sqm. The nematodes need to come into contact with the caterpillars , so make sure to target the caterpillars rather than spraying aimlessly over the webbing. They are a perishable, living product, so it is sent out fresh by Royal Mail 1st class post. Being a perishable, living product, it must be used before the expiry date (which is marked on the inside of the pack and will be at least 2 weeks) and it must be stored in the fridge until it is needed. Once opened, the contents do not keep, so it must be used in one day – do NOT store the made up solution or powder. 1 or 2 packs will go through your letterbox and should be popped in the fridge as soon as possible – they are fine on the doormat while you are at work. Apply Ermine Caterpillar Nematodes with a sprayer or EasyNem Applicator.

N.B. Ermine Moth Caterpillar Nematodes need a temperature of 12°C/40°F and is a perishable product (it will keep for approx 2 weeks in the fridge), so please order when you are ready to apply. As the biggest supplier of nematodes in the UK and because we have fresh deliveries of nematodes each week, you are guaranteed the freshest stock with the longest expiry date available. In the season our nematodes are dispatched DAILY by 1st class post.
