This rustic Bumble Bee Nest Box is made from rough saw timber, so it looks the part in any wildlife garden. It also features a Perspex viewing window, so you can keep track on what the bumblebees are doing. Bumblebees are essential pollinators in the garden, but their numbers are in decline, so by positioning a Bumble Bee Nest Box in your garden, you can attract more to your garden.

Bumblebees often nest in old mice and vole nests, so it makes a sense that this Bumble Bee Nest Box is attractive to both Bumblebees and small mammals. Don’t be disappointed if you get a mouse / vole or shrew nesting in it first as this will make it more attractive to bumblebees in the following years – make sure you leave the old mouse nest in place. The Queen bumblebee spends the winter alone underground and then when she emerges in the Spring, she will seek out a new home in which to start her new bumblebee colony. This nest box features an entrance hole, which leads into the 1st chamber. From here the bumblebees can make there way into the nesting chamber which comes complete with nesting material. There is also a mesh covered ventilation hole, so that the nest stays well ventilated. A Perspex viewing window and removable lid means it is easy to see what is going on. Site in a shaded area from ground level up to 2ms as required (full siting instructions are included). H 17cm x W 25.5cm x D 15cm.

I love to encourage bees into my garden and when I saw the bumblebee nest box on green gardener I had to buy one. I’ve had lots of success in previous years with the straw/tube solitary bee boxes. So I bought another one of them to. Delivered quickly and in tip top condition.
