Customer Question – Leatherjackets and dead lawn.
Q. “Hi – We have an infestation of leatherjackets in our garden. I have purchased some Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer nematodes, but wanted to check something. The leatherjackets have killed all the grass and we are just left with soil/mud. Will the nematodes still be effective if I apply them to the soil? Or do you have any other advice for me? Thanks in advance.” James by email
A. Thanks for the message and the Leatherjacket Killer nematodes work in the soil where the leatherjackets are so you are fine to treat the bare areas. Grass does recover really well, so kill the leatherjackets and then feed to lawn and see what happens. You might be surprised as to what grows back. Our Root Success mycorrhizal fungi treatment combined with our Organic Lawn Fertiliser are ideal for helping your lawn to recover.
