Hang up this Solitary Bee Nester to attract / encourage solitary bees. Building-up the number of solitary bees visiting your garden each year will ensure pollination of your flowers, vegetable and herbs. The Solitary Bee Nester is made from natural, environmentally friendly materials- the Eco Nester is formed from natural plant fibres with almost zero waste pollution during production. Once it reaches the end of its life, it can even be composted. Featuring approx 40 removable cardboard nesting tubes, these can be replaced as needed. Also included is a protector plate, which can be used to protect filled tubes from predators such as woodpeckers. Solitary bees lay their eggs inside the nesting tubes and seal them with mud or chewed up vegetation, so it is easy to tell if it is being used. The following year the adults AND their offspring will use the same nest again building up the numbers of solitary bees visiting your garden each year. Site between ground level and  2metres high, in a sheltered site which catches the morning sun and near scented plants. You can also angle it slightly downwards to prevent rainwater from trickling inside. A mud supply is useful, but not essential. Height 9.5cm x Width 9.5cm x Depth 16cm.
