Solitary Bee Nesting Tubes
£7.99
Use these replacement cardboard Solitary Nesting Tubes to replace tubes in Solitary Bee Nests or use them to make your own bee nest. Simply replace any damaged or removed tubes (birds especially woodpeckers will remove tubes to feed on the larvae inside) with new tubes as needed. They are also ideal for making your own bee nest – pictured is one I made with an old well know crisp tube. If you are making your own, you do need to enclose the back of the house as bees do not like tubes that are open at both ends. These cardboard nesting tubes measure 150mm length x 10mm and the inside diameter is 8mm, which is ideal for mason and leaf-cutter solitary bees to rest, build nests and lay their eggs in. They come in packs of 20, 50 and 100. Available NOW.

Ordered some cardboard tubes for solitary bees. Delivered quickly, well packed, good value. Recommended!

Love this site but as far as making your own bees nest out of a cardboard tube, it’s not ideal to have tubes exposed to the rain, if they get damp they will ruin the cocoons, so they need to be covered more and sheltered from the elements.

Thanks for the message and this was one of those well known waxed cardboard crisp tubes which are rainproof and it was kept in an alcove so it worked really well. As you suggest anything that houses bee tubes should be weatherproof. Thanks for the feedback. Kind regards

I needed some Bee tubes and searched and found Green Gardener as a supplier at a reasonable cost and also found info on there website regarding the types of Bee which would use the tubes and advice on how best to use them. A very useful website with plenty of non toxic pest controls for the keen natural gardiner and a family run business so would certainly use again when needed.
