Sulphur rose is a brilliant plant tonic which is sprayed on and encourages healthy blemish free growth . Spray Sulphur Rose throughout the year - i.e. during the dormant season, once the roses are in leaf, while they are budding and finally, once they have flowered. Sulphur Rose can be used on other plants (especially apples, cane fruits, dahlias, delphiniums, honeysuckle, phlox, pears, plums, clematis and grapes) which suffer from yellowing leaves and blemishes - simply spray both the underside and top of the foliage throughout the growing season at a rate of 10g per 4.5 litres (1 gallon) of water. For blemish free healthy roses, apply Sulphur Rose throughout the year :- Spray the stems and ground between plants during the dormant season to reduce the number of overwintering spores. Applications of peat and bark can help acidify the soil, but Sulphur Soil chips are cheaper, more effective alternative and more environmentally friendly than peat. These slow release chips can maintain acidic conditions for up to 2 years depending on soil and climatic conditions. An Application of 50g per sqm (2oz per sq yds) will reduce the pH by 1 (i.e. this application will reduce the pH of a soil with a starting pH of 6 to 5 for 2 years.)
