Each pack of Green Gardener EasyNem Slug Nematodes contains 15 million microscopic beneficial nematodes (Phasmarhabditis Californica) in a NEW easy mix formulae. They are invisible to the naked eye and come as a powder, which is mixed with water and applied to the soil where they search out and invade the slugs. As the nematodes invade the slug, it will stop feeding, so your plants are safe and will burrow underground to die. As it decomposes in the soil, the nematodes are released back into the soil to search out more slugs and the whole process starts again. They work at temperatures above 5c/40f, so apply UNDERGLASS all year round OR apply OUTDOORS during the growing season i.e. between March and November. Each application of EasySlug Nematodes will control slugs for six weeks, so for a slug free garden, apply it every 6 weeks. Being a living, perishable product (it will keep for 2 weeks in the fridge), order it when you are ready to apply or select your dispatch date below. 

How is it sent? – Sent out fresh by Royal Mail 1st TRACKED post, it fine on the doormat while you are at work. Being a perishable, living product, it must be used before the expiry date (which is marked on the pack and will be at least 2 weeks) and it must be stored in the fridge until it is needed. Once opened, the contents do not keep, so it must be used in one day – do NOT store the made up solution or powder. 

How to apply? – It is easy to use. Mix the harmless powder with water & apply to the soil around the plant using a watering can fitted with a Coarse Rose or the NemaCan Watering Can or use an EasyNem Applicator or Hose-end Feeder  for larger areas.

1. Top dressing indoor plant pots to prevent Sciarid Fly and prevent moisture loss. Great for cacti, succulents, terrariums and houseplants.
2. Use them outdoors as a mulch to supress weeds, retain moisture and as a natural slug deterrent – place a generous layer around the base of plants. A Large Bag (approx 11kg) will mulch approx 1/2 sqm.

• Standard Packs of nematodes can be applied with a watering can fitted with a coarse rose (we recommend and sell the Fine as Rain no.14 rose) or with a hose-end feeder / EasyNem Applicator.  N.B. Standard packs of Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer MUST be applied with a watering can and cannot be applied with a hose-end feeder / nematode applicator.
• Large Packs of nematodes can be applied with a watering can fitted with a coarse rose (we recommend and sell  the Haws no.14 rose), but it is much easier to apply nematodes to larger areas with with a EasyNem Applicator,  Hose-end Feeder / Nematode Applicator. N.B. The EasyNem Applicator and Hose-end Feeder are suitable for treating areas up to 200 sqm, but for larger jobs, we recommend using the Nematode Applicator i.e. for application to large lawns.
• For applying nematodes to larger areas i.e. over 200 sqm or for regular nematode application, use a Nematode Applicator.
  
• For larger Spraying Jobs i.e. for applying Nemasys Fruit and Vegetable Protection to hedges to control Box Tree Caterpillar, the 5 litre Rechargeable Sprayer is ideal.

Fine as Rain no.14 Rose – Watering cans need to be fitted with a coarse rose,which will allow the nematodes to flow easily. We recommend using the Haws Rose no.14, as not all roses are suitable – its large holes will not clog when applying nematodes.

EasyNem Applicator – Designed specifically for applying nematodes, this EasyNem Applicator makes applying nematodes much easier.  It attaches via standard hose-pipe connector – simply add the nematodes to the feeder bowl and water for 5-7 minutes – during this time the nematodes will be dispersed at the correct rate. The Applicator can also be used for applying liquid feed to plants and lawns – perfect for applying Root Success to help lawns recover from a pest attack. 

Hose-end feeder – Used for applying nematodes to larger areas i.e. up to 200 sqm. This feeder can also be used for applying liquid feed to plants and lawns. Attaches via standard hose-pipe connector and features both a rose head and jet spray as well as an on / off switch for water flow. We supply the Miracle Gro Hose-end Feeder as not all of them are suitable for applying nematodes.

Nematode Applicator – This Nematode Applicator has been specifically designed to apply nematodes to LARGER areas, so if you have an area over 200 sqm or are using nematodes regularly, then this applicator is ideal. Can also be used to apply plant food etc.

The 5 litre Rechargeable Sprayer – This sprayer features a rechargeable 5v battery, which makes it the easy way to apply nematodes, weed killer, pest control sprays & fertilisers around the garden / nursery – no more pumping to maintain pressure! Ideal for applying Nemasys Fruit and Vegetable Protection to hedges i.e. for controlling Box Tree Caterpillar.
