Ladybirds are the best known beneficial insect and a welcome sight in the garden, where they happily munch away on greenfly and other tasty pests. By releasing ladybirds (adults and / or larvae) in your garden you can boost their numbers, which will lead to a permanent decrease in the number of pests in your garden i.e. aphids. Ladybird Larvae can also be used for clearing heavy infestations of aphids in greenhouses / conservatories. Each ladybird will eat about 5000 aphids and will soon produce ladybird larvae which in turn also eat aphids. Ladybirds are available between April and September.
N.B. Available for w/c 29/03 onwards, so pre-order for dispatch then or select a LATER date below.
Ladybird Larvae - Each ladybird larvae will eat a large number of pests before pupating and emerging as a ladybird ready to breed and produce the next generation of ladybirds. As they are supplied as larvae, they are ideal for releasing directly onto plants heavily infected with aphids - as they they are unable to fly and will stay where you put them. We also include 5 small paper release bags to make releasing your ladybirds as easy as possible - simply tip 10 larvae in each bags and position on the plants.
Ladybird Larvae have a huge appetite for soft-bodied pests such as aphids, so release ladybird larvae onto your pest infected plants to clear pest problems. We supply native British Ladybird Larvae in packs of 50 with food included ready for release in your garden or for use under-glass. Green Gardener only supplies British Adalia bipunctata ladybirds - we do NOT supply Harlequin ladybirds. The ladybirds are sent by 1st class post with food included. Available in packs of 50 ready for release in the garden.
"I want to leave feedback for the ladybirds I received today for our granddaughter's greenhouse. We are over the moon with them they were very healthy and are eating the pests quickly. We have put a couple of ladybird houses in there so that when it gets warm enough we can move some onto our outside plants. Thank you so much I will definitely be repeating this exercise next year." Price - Ladybird larvae proved to be very successful.
-
I have 31 runner bean canes and at the end of June realised that I had a massive incidence of black fly aphids. I ordered Lady Bird Larvae from Green Gardner and also had a long telephone conversation with a lady at the company who gave me very helpful advice. At first it seemed that the aphids would overwhelm the runner beans and that I might have to spray them. However 100 Ladybird larvae proved to be very successful and after 2 weeks started to mature into Ladybirds. I believe the majority of the larvae did survive and grow and I am very happy with the outcome. I would add that the larvae should be deployed in the cooler evening as opposed to the hot sunny part of the day."

My annual purchase of ladybirds arrive and they are happily munching on the greenfly! I also ordered some ladybird larvae. Unfortunately, only two or three large ones arrived because of the delay in the post. I learned from Green Gardiner that they had eaten each other! Anyway, sure enough a new box arrived two days later with loads of little ones ready to tackle the greenfly on my roses. Great service, great concept! Go Green Gardener!

I tried the ladybird larvae because my indoor chilli plants keep getting infested with aphids. I had a few questions before buying so called and was advised to use the larvae rather than the adults. (very informative lady on the phone was extremely helpful) The larvae have eaten most of the aphids now and are turning to adult stage so very happy with them so far and hoping they will stick around, in fact I even got the ladybird barn to keep them safe throughout the winter). Excellent and I highly recommend. ????

For the last few years I have purchased your ladybird larvae and adults to boost the population in my area bit by bit. They have done a wonderful job at controlling the numbers of green aphids and earlier this year has been the first where I have seen both adult ladybirds and larvae in the garden before needing making a purchase.

The ladybirds arrived quickly and in good condition. Still badly infested with aphids, although the ladybirds did a good job on the rose Bush I put them on, some aphids have come back to it. I think I need 500 ladybirds for my garden! It's really bad this year. Thinking of buying a ladybird lodge to breed them!

Great service at a good price
I have used Green Gardener products for a number of years. They supply a number of natural pest control options and I have tried several of them.
I have used nemaslug successfully for several years, also vine weevil control for adults and grubs. I have also tried encarsia in the greenhouse, adult ladybirds, larvae and lacewing larvae to control greenfly. All products that have worked well and benefitted the garden.
They provide a good and reliable service, particularly the two part delivery which ensures that you treat at the right timePrice - Ladybird Larvae

I bought the ladybird larvae for use on nasturtiums and great water dock plant by my pond which were covered in aphids. I haven’t seen any ladybirds in years so wanted to help them make a comeback in my garden. I received a large amount of larvae and they have grown well even the larvae eat aphids I look foward to them growing into ladybirds

This year I had an early infestation of blackfly on my runner beans. The ladybird larvae were very effective and soon cleaned up the plants. Now I have an excellent crop of beans. A few years ago I had a similar problem and the ladybirds again worked their magic. This method certainly works. I have also had success with the lacewing larvae.
