Position a Lacewing Chamber in your garden in late August to make sure more Lacewings survive the winter. Lacewing larvae are important in the garden, because their larvae eat greenfly and blackfly plus other insect pests. Lacewings occur naturally in your garden and unusually they overwinter as adults, but 90% of lacewings do not survive the winter because of a shortage of suitable shelter. By placing a Lacewing Chamber in your garden, many more of these beneficial insects will survive the winter to control pests in the spring. Position Lacewing Chambers in late summer i.e. late August / early Sept. The wooden chamber comes ready to use and consists of a sturdy wooden box, which will last for years and a straw insert, which  is treated with a strong pheromone attractant to entice the lacewings into their new home for the winter – simply replace the straw insert each year (in late August / Sept) to keep attracting lacewings. Position the chamber, with the louvred front facing away from the prevailing wind, on top of a wooden post or fence 5-6ft off the ground. Measures 23cm high x 14.5 cm wide x 18cm deep.

Lacewing pheromone came in good time and nicely packaged. Straw in my lacewing box smells very nice, so if attracts me, it will them.

I have purchased a lacewing hibernation chamber from you which I am very pleased with. The lacewing larvae I purchased made short work of the blackfly breaking out across the allotment and were excellent workers!
