Nemaslug and Snails

Q. “Hi Green Gardener. I’ve ordered some Nemaslug, but snails are a major problem in my garden. Is there any nematodes for them?” Ruth by email

A. Thanks for the message and Nemaslug is sold as a slug control but everyone who uses it says it reduces snail numbers as well, so I think you will find it will help control your snails as well. We think the Nemaslug nematodes affect the juvenile snails while to the shell is still developing, so over a period of time as the larger snails are predated on and there are less young snails emerging (because of the Nemaslug) , the numbers go down. It does take longer to control the snail than slugs but it does help. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener
