This NEW Inground Wormery is installed directly into the soil and is designed for all-year-round use i.e. being buried in the soil protects to from the worst of the weather. This discreet and efficient system allows worms and microorganisms to thrive, but is odour-Free and is low maintenance i.e. once set up, the worms do not require any maintenance. This system is ideal for those with limited garden space, as the composter is buried underground, leaving the surface area clear for planting.

How does it work? When you are ready to start, bury your wormery in the ground. Simply add the soaked coir bedding and add the worms. Now you can start feeding your worms – add a small amount of kitchen waste to the wormery and leave the worms to settle in. Feed your worms small amounts of kitchen waste on a regular basis increasing the amount as the worms breed. There is no need to empty the wormery as the worms will “distribute” the composted contents into the surrounding soil. • When you are ready to start redeem the voucher for the worms following the instructions on the voucher. The worms will arrive within a couple of days.
• Assemble the sump by attaching the feet.
• Place the 1st tray on top of the sump and add the coir bedding and some of the paper packaging the wormery was delivered in torn into little pieces and add the worms.
• Cover the worms with a layer of chopped kitchen waste.
• Keep adding kitchen waste regularly to the tray – in the beginning it is best to add small amounts of waste regularly to allow the worms to settle in.
• Once the 1st tray is full, start filling the next tray.
• The worms start “eating” the kitchen waste in the bottom tray and once finished, they move up to the next tray through the perforations in each layer. Simply keep adding waste & filling the trays.
• By the time you have filled the top tray, the bottom tray will have fully worked compost, which can be emptied out. This empty tray is then placed on the top ready for fresh waste.
• The liquid fertilizer is drained regularly from the sump by tipping it forward and needs to be diluted (10:1) before use.

How does it work? When you are ready to start, site your wormery in a sheltered spot where it is protected from the worst of the weather – a shed, garage or porch is ideal. Assemble the stand (simply clicks together without the need for tools) and suspend the wormery. Simply add the soaked coir bedding and then wait a day before adding the worms. Now you can start feeding your worms – add a small amount of kitchen waste to the wormery and place a small bucket under the hanging wormery to collect any liquid and leave the worms to settle in. Feed your worms small amounts of kitchen waste on a regular basis increasing the amount as the worms breed. When the wormery is full and you are ready to harvest the compost, release the buckles and drawstring and let the fully worked compost simply drop out. Any worms which fall out can be returned to the top of the wormery. The compost can be used as a top dressing and any liquid can be diluted 10 – 1 and used as a liquid feed.
