These NEW Predator Eyes are solar powered – they charge during the day, come on AUTOMATICALLY at night and then turn off again in the morning and starts charging again, so there are no batteries to change! Once they come on , the two red LED lights in the front start to flash and it is these lights that stops the fox / badger / deer. Nite Eyes do not harm the animals, but they will feel threatened, because they believe the flash to be the eyes of another animal and it is this sense of being watched that the animals do not like so they turn tail and run away. The fox, badger or deer MUST see the lights to be repelled, so position each unit at eye level (25-30cm for badgers and 40-50cm for foxes and 1-1.2m for deer) and make sure that the pest can see them from the area you are protecting. If you are trying to protect a large area i.e. an entire lawn then you will need to position more than one unit and they should be positioned 7.6m (25ft) apart along the entire perimeter.
