Slugs and snails hate copper because of a reaction between their mucus and the copper. Use this self-adhesive Flexible Copper Tape on your pots / containers to form a barrier that slugs and snails will not cross. 

This self-adhesive Flexible Copper Tape is wider than the traditional tape (38mm), so it forms an even more effective barrier, which will stop slugs and snails. Its striped surface also makes the tape very flexible, so it can more easily be shaped around things making this tape very versatile. Simply apply to the rim of pots, around raised beds or even applied to dog bowls to form a barrier slugs AND snails will NOT cross. Copper tape can be awkward to apply, especially to uneven shapes and bevelled pot edges, but not this tape. It has a patented, A special adhesive bonds to almost any surface. Use this tape to stop slugs AND snails getting into pots, tubs, raised beds and even dog bowls – dogs can become infected with lungworm if they eat slugs or snails. It’s long lasting, looks good and sticks to any clean, dry pot. Each roll of Flexible Copper Tape is 4m in length, which will go around approx. 4 x 30cm pots.
