Adult Ladybirds and Ladybird Larvae - Ladybirds are the best known beneficial insect and a welcome sight in the garden, where they happily munch away on greenfly and other tasty pests. By releasing ladybirds (available as adults or larvae) in your garden you can boost their numbers, which will lead to a permanent decrease in the number of pests in your garden - each ladybird will eat about 5000 aphids and will soon produce ladybird larvae which in turn also eat aphids. We supply BOTH Adult Ladybirds and Ladybird Larvae for release in your garden between May and August. Available NOW.
Adult Ladybirds - We supply native British Adalia bipunctata ladybirds in tubes / tubs of 25 ready for release in your garden. Green Gardener only supplies native British Adalia bipunctata ladybirds - we do NOT supply Harlequin ladybirds. The ladybirds are sent by 1st class post with their very own packed lunch of popcorn or cereal. Ladybirds are natural predators of aphids (greenfly and blackfly) as well as being a gardener's / youngster's favourite. By releasing ladybirds, you can permanently increase the number of these beneficial insects in your garden and decrease the number of pests. They should be released directly onto aphid infected plants or dotted around the garden either early in the morning or late evening.

"Your ladybirds were beautiful and certainly did the job on my roses & broom. They laid eggs so we had a new batch too" Mrs G. of Worcs.
"Dear Jon, Thanks for my ladybirds - they're beautiful, and are right now feasting on all my aphids!" Susan McKenna-Dempsey.
"The ladybirds just arrived and have been successfully transferred to my beleaguered chili plants, and I am now witnessing aphid carnage! I almost feel guilty, but the poor chili was becoming very shriveled and sorry for itself, and I could never bring myself to use pesticides. So thank you very much for the prompt dispatch and delivery. Hopefully I won't need your services again, but I will definitely recommend you to friends and will return next time I have a pest problem." Best regards, Suzie
Ladybird Larvae - The larvae look nothing like their parents, but the have the same appetite for soft -bodied garden pests such as aphids (greenfly and blackfly). Each ladybird larvae will eat a large number of pests before pupating and emerging as a ladybird. As they are supplied as larvae, they are ideal for releasing directly onto plants heavily infected with aphids - as they they are unable to fly and will stay where you put them. Supplied in trays of 50, they are sent by 1st class post ready for release directly into your garden.

"Just wanted to say how pleased I am to have discovered your company. I was a bit skeptical about whether ladybird larvae would be effective in clearing a huge aphid problem on my rose bushes, but they've worked surprisingly well. Your customer service is also brilliant and the products I've ordered have arrived quickly. I will definitely recommend you to my freinds!" Sarah (SE1 London) by email

SB Invigorator - This 'three in one' natural spray controls a range of pests in a safe and effective way PLUS it also controls fungal diseases and contains a foliar feed. Use SB Invigorator to control pests BEFORE introducing natural controls i.e. use it to stop pests getting out of control and as there are no harmful chemical residues left behind, beneficial insects can then be introduced i.e. spotted Whitefly? Spray with SB Invigorator and then introduce Encarsia.
Need a Sprayer? - Buy SB Invigorator 250ml Conc and a Solo Sprayer and SAVE £3.50
SB Invigorator - controls pests and used regularly will reduce fungal diseases such as mildew. PLUS it contains a foliar feed to help plants recover from pest attack. SB Plant Invigorator is not only highly effective, but it is also biodegradable and non toxic. SB Plant Invigorator can be used in the garden, conservatory or in the greenhouse and most importantly can be used on edible plants - pick and eat straightway.
SB Invigorator is brilliant at clearing heavy infestations BEFORE introducing a natural control. Here the spray has been applied twice at 2 day intervals to kill a heavy infestation of mealy bug before introducing cryptolaemus. The first spray removes the protective wax from the pest, which normally makes it so difficult to control and then the subsequent spray 2 days later kills the pest. As no harmful chemical residues are left behind, the cryptolameus were immediately introduced to give on-going pest control.
SB Invigorator is available as a 500ml ready to use spray, as a 250ml concentrate (makes 25 litres of spray) or as a 1 litre super concentrate (makes 500 litres) for use in your own sprayer.
"Sb Invigorators effect on the Euonymus Scale has been most impressive as the severe infesation seems to have disappeared already. I shall continue to spray the hedge and also spray my roses to resist aphids and blackspot" Pamela M by email.
New - Solo Sprayer - This unique 2 litre sprayer has an adjustable nozzle allowing you to direct the spray exactly where required, so it is ideal for applying natural sprays.
New - Solo Sprayer - The Solo Sprayer features a trigger lock for continuous spraying, a large curved pumping handle for ease of use and a large opening for easy to filling. It also has an automatic pressure relief valve for safety. Aim the sprayer directly at insect pests or when applying fungicides such as sulphur rose or our new mildew control aim at the top of the plant and then adjust the nozzle and spray the underside of the plant covering the leaves completely. This gives maximum protection from attack by fungal diseases whilst using the minimum amount of spray.

Special Offer - Coir Pots - Our range of coir based products are PEAT FREE making them better for the environment and your plants. They are also easier to use (no more clearing up plastic / polystyrene pots, because the pots simply rot down in the soil after use) and produce healthier, faster growing plants (the roots grow through the pot into the soil, so there is no need to disturb the roots when you plant).
Coir Pots - These pots are ideal for potting on and for raising larger plants such as greenhouse vegetable plants, fuchsias, geraniums, dahlias, Surfinia petunias etc. These Coir Pots start off just like plastic pots, but roots grow through the sides of the pot ready for potting or planting out - no root disturbance for the plant and no plastic pots for you to throw away. Here tomato plants have been raised in coir post before being planted (pot and all) directly into the grow bag - You simply pop the plant & the pot into the planting hole. Its quick and easy and good for the plants and for the environment. Made from renewable resources and biodegradable. Available in 3 sizes :-

Slug Gone Wool Barrier - Made from recycled wool, these pellets are placed around individual plants in pots/containers or in borders to stop slugs and snails in their tracks. To protect plants in borders - place the pellets in a ring around the induividual plants or use as a mulch. To protect plants in pots - cover the surface of the pot with pellets. Slug Gone Wool Barrier is available in 20 litre bags for mulching borders.
Slug Gone Wool Barrier - These pellets are made from reclaimed wool and old woollen jumpers with no chemicals added, these pellets are 100% natural and are very effective at repelling slugs and snails. Once the pellets have been spread over the surface and watered, the pellets expand and form a mat, which will not blow or wash away. The fibres in the woollen pellets stop the slugs and snails by making it uncomfortable for the slug or snail to crawl across. The pellets ALSO form an effective mulch, which also reduces moisture loss from the soil and supresses weeds. The pellets eventually breaks down to release plant nutrients into the soil.

Mulching Pots - 1. Wool Pellets 2. Place them around the plants 3. Water 4. Expands to form a mulch
Mulching Borders - 1. & 2. Place them around the plants 3. Water 4. Expands to form a mulch.
"...really good, new barrier in the form of pellets made of recycled sheep's wool. When spread around my Rudbeckia occidentalis 'Green Wizard', which was shredded to bits last summer despite my best efforts, it has formed a dense matted layer that the beasts have not yet breached. It seems to be better than granular barriers, which I find scatter about too easily. I am told that, as a bonus, the wool rots down and feeds the soil." Slug Collars / Hosta Halos - Our Slug Collars are great at protecting plants from slugs and snails, but fit them with a Hothouse Cover and they transform into a mini greenhouse, which traps heat, warming the soil, so that seeds and young plants get off to the best start. Simply push the slug collar into the soil and fit the plastic cover to create a warm, light environmant ideal for the germination of seeds and growth of young plants. They are also used to protect established plants from slugs and snails i.e. the are designed to slip over the tender shoots of hostas, delphiniums and other herbaceous plants. Also great in the vegetable garden to protect lettuce, rocket, runner beans etc.
Slug Collars / Hosta Halos - Simply screw the ring a few cms into the soil and the angled lip effectively keeps slugs and snails away from your plants. In trials in my garden I also found they protected plants from my over enthusiastic hoeing and mulching as well! Use early in the season for best results. When the foliage grows out over the ring apply Nemaslug® to complete your slug control programme. The Hosta Halos can then be stored and re-used countless times. Dimensions - Height 12cm, diameter at base 13cm and diameter at top 18cm.
Hothouse Covers - This cover fits on top of the hosta halo, turning it into a mini hothouse. The hothouse cover allows sunlight in and then holds back the warmth making it ideal for protecting and encouraging growth in spring and autumn. Once the plants are established simply remove the lid during the hot summer months, leaving the halo in place to protect from slugs and snails. Ventilation holes prevent overheating and allow water in so you do not have to remove the lid to water. The cover also provides protection from pests, heavy rain and hail. Available as packs of 6 Hothouse Covers for customers who already have halos or as packs of 6 & 18 halo's including covers.
Special Offer - 6 x Slug Collars and Hothouse Covers £19.49 saving £3.00 Special Offer - 18 x Slug Collars and Hothouse Covers £53.47 saving a further £5.00
"I think I have every slug and snail in Orpington, but your hosta halos really work. For the first time my lettuces are coming along a treat" Mrs S. of Orpington.
"I've just put in my third order for Hosta Halo's, and wanted to drop you a note to say that this is one of the best products I've come across in years! For the first time my husband and I have been able to grow delphiniums, hollyhocks and dahlias in our Cornish garden (slugs and snails LOVE Cornwall!); and our runner and French beans are more successful than ever before. For the record, we're also using the halo's for young lettuces, brassicas - it's going to be a tasty summer! Thanks very much for your great service. All best wishes" L.S. by email

Spray roses with Sulphur Rose NOW - The prolonged wet winter weather means we are getting lots of enquiries about controlling fungal diseases like blackspot and mildew and my roses are covered in blackspot. Spray Sulphur Rose NOW for blemish free roses this summer! Roses are a gardener's favourite, but often develop yellow leaves and black blotches i.e Blackspot & Mildew, which makes the plants unsightly. Sulphur rose is a brilliant plant tonic which is sprayed on and encourages healthy blemish-free growth.
Sulphur Rose - Spray Sulphur Rose throughout the year to encourage blemish free grwoth. Spray your plants during the dormant season, spraying the stems and the ground around the roses. Then spray regularly through the growing season. During periods of high humidity and above average temperatures, spray every 14 days because these conditions encourage the spread of diseases. Sulphur Rose MUST be applied to both the underside and top of all the leaves.Sulphur Rose - a 250g pack keeps 20 roses healthy for one season.
New - Organic Liquid Rose Feed - This new organic rose food contains everything your roses need to keep them looking at their best naturally - a must for every rose grower.

It also has trace elements that all plants need in small quantities - making this the complete rose feed. It can be used to feed roses indoors, in patio pots and of course roses growing in the garden. Apply every 2-4 weeks during the growing season.
