APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR NEMATODES USING A HOSE-END FEEDER OR SPRAYER.

Application method of nematodes to control slugs, vine weevil, chafer grubs and leatherjackets.

  • Apply standard and large packs of all nematodes with a watering can (fitted with a coarse rose) or hose-end feeder - particularly useful for larger areas.

  • Apply ALL economy packs to lawns with a sprayer.

Haws Rose no.7 Rose - Watering cans need to be fitted with a coarse rose. We recommend using the Haws Rose no.7 as not all roses are suitable.

Phostrogen Hose-end feeder - Use for applying SOME STANDARD PACKS & LARGE PACKS of nematodes for slugs, vine weevil, chafer grubs and leatherjackets. This feeder can also be used for applying plant food, acid plant food and tonic and lawn food.

  • Can be used to apply nematodes to large areas.

  • A quick and easy way to feed plants, shrubs, vegetables, baskets and lawns.

  • Attaches via standard snap fit hose-pipe connector.

  • Features both a rose head and jet spray.

  • Features on / off switch for water flow.

N.B. Not all models of hose-end feeder are suitable - you need to use either the Phostrogen feeder by PBI Ltd - which we supply or the Miracle Grow hose-end feeder.

Our new pumpless sprayer holds 7.6 litres of spray and can be pressurised automatically as the sprayer is filled with water saving time and energy. Application instructions for applying :-

  1. Nemaslug and Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer with a hose-end feeder.

  2. Leatherjacket and Chafer Grub Killer with a hose-end feeder.

  3. Economy packs with a sprayer.

Nemaslug® - Hose end feeder instructions. Apply Nemaslug using a watering can or a hose-end feeder. Application instructions for 40sqm & 100sqm packs through a hose-end feeder.

  • Mark out the area to be treated - 40sqm or 100sqm.

  • Wash the feeder through with water to ensure it is clean.

  • Add entire contents of the pack to the bowl of the feeder. Then fill the bowl with water before attaching the hose.

  • Taking care to keep the feeder in an upright position apply evenly to the whole of the area for 8 minutes using a side-to-side motion to keep the nematodes well mixed. During this time most of the nematodes will have been applied.

  • Treat the same area again for a further 8 minutes to apply the remaining nematodes as well as to make sure they are adequately watered in.

  • Adhering strictly to the application timings will ensure that any remaining colour in the bowl will be due to inert carrier only and that you have performed an even application.

  • This new method provides a simple and effective application, however, it is important to follow the instructions exactly to obtain even coverage.

Nemasys® Vine Weevil Killer - Hose end feeder instructions. Apply Nemasys® using a watering can or a garden feeder. Application instructions for 100 sqm packs ONLY through a hose-end feeder.

  • Mark out area to be treated.

  • Wash the feeder through with water to ensure it is clean.

  • Add entire contents of the pack to the bowl of the feeder. Then fill the bowl with water before attaching the hose.

Economy packs of Nemasys® chafer grub & leatherjacket killer - sprayer instructions. You must apply Economy packs of Nemasys® Chafer Grub Killer with a sprayer. Application instructions for 500sqm packs through a sprayer.

  • Mark out area to be treated and irrigate well so that the area to be treated is moist

  • Wash the sprayer through with water to ensure it is clean.

  • Add entire contents of the pack to a bucket and add 10 litres of water. Stir the solution well.

  • Take 2 litres of the concentrated solution and add to the sprayer and add another 10 litres of water. Stir well again.

  • Apply the contents to 100 sqm. Once the sprayer is empty, repeat the process another 4 times until you have treated 500 sqm in total.

  • Irrigate the treated area directly after application with upto 3mm of water.

  • This new method provides a simple and effective application, however, it is important to follow the instructions exactly to obtain even coverage.
